Description

INTRODUCTION:

Gym is a place which houses exercise equipment for the purpose of physical exercise. Physical fitness is important throughout life to develop and maintain functional capability to meet the demands of living, and promote optimal health..

A modern day gym is a facility where you work out, meditate doing some yoga, feel good with some aerobics exercise, and relax your senses with a day spa and then look good by grooming at the saloon. The Gym Management requires a system that will handle all the necessary and minute details easily and proper database security accordingly to the user. They requires software, which will store data about members, employees, products, payroll, receipts of members etc & all transactions that occur in Gym and lock-up with graphical user interface(GUI).

OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT

  • To keep information about all the customers.
  • To keep information about all the money transactions of the customers.
  • To keep information of the staff and their various details.
  • Timely generation of reports.
  • Store all the information in a systematic way with features like saves, delete, update, and retrieve options.

PROBLEM STATEMENT:

  1. Time consumption: As the records are to be manually maintained it consumes a lot of

time.

  1. Paper work: Lot of paper work is involved as the records are maintained in the files & registers
  2. Storage requirements: As files and registers are used the storage space requirement is

increased.

  1. Less reliable: Use of papers for storing valuable data information is not at all reliable.
  2. Accuracy: As the system is in manual there are lot many chances of human errors. These can cause errors in calculating mechanism or maintaining customer details.
  3. Difficulty in keeping new records: It is difficult for keeping all the new entries of members, their account and transaction details.

LITERATURE REVIEW:

It is important to study and recognize the problem of the existing system which will help in finding out the requirement for the new system. Background study of the system helps in finding different alternatives for other solution. This project deals with the different operations and steps to make the system compatible with the todays users need.

  1. Gathering data
  2. Study of the existing system
  3. Analyzing problem
  4. Feasibility study
  5. Proposed system functionality

METHODOLOGY TO BE USED:

HARDWARE REQUIREMENT:

Processor: Any Pentium or Equivalent Machine

RAM: 256 MB

HDD: 1.2 GB

CD-ROM: 32X

14 inches Color Monitor

104 Keys Keyboards

Printer: DeskJet 670 C

MINIMUM SOFTWARE REQUIREMENT OF CLIENT SIDE:

Operating System                   : Windows 9x/NT/2000/Xp

Database                                             : Microsoft Office Access

Front-end                                           : Visual Basic  6.0

VISUAL BASIC:

Visual basic is great! It’s an easy, economical and fast application development tool; it’s a good prototyping tool and developer’s love using it. Like any high-level programming

language, Visual Basic lets the programmer write really awful programs, and with Visual Basic, you can screw up more easily and faster than ever! Important business logic can be attached to GUI widgets rather than placed in reusable objects, making it hard to share and reuse code.

Ms Access?

I used Ms Access because it is simply available in almost all gym management system project machines that is normally using Ms Office.

  • Gym management system project Ms Access is easily portable from one machine to ogym management system projectr Machine.
  • Gym management system project MS Access has a good & Highly Interactive Graphic User Interface.
  • MS Access is less costlier than ogym management system projectr RDBMSs’  for small scale use.

Modules

This project consists of different interfaces which will be accessed through a MDI (Multiple Document Interface) window. Different modules that makeup this system have already been a described in system analysis.

  1. Module 1: Member’s Module
  2. Module 2:Employee’s Module
  3. Module 3: Inventory module
